NUS Stand Up Against Poverty
What: The NUS Stand Up 2008, organized in conjunction with World Food Day celebrations, aims to give interested, socially-oriented youth within and beyond the campus an opportunity to Stand Up Against Poverty, gain a deeper understanding of poverty, development and food security issues, as well as experience a meaningful meal together.
The event will feature an engaging panel on poverty and development in the context of globalization, an open dialogue on how youth in Singapore can contribute to the alleviation of poverty and social injustice, as well as a special “Eat So They Can” dinner catered by a local social enterprise

When: 16 October 2008 (Thursday), 6.30pm-8.30pm
