Donations for cyclone-hit Myanmar
As most of you all should know already, Myanmar was hit earlier this week by Cyclone Nargis. Much damage have been done and it is estimated that the death toll has risen to over 22,000. There is also significant concern about the possibility of post-disaster diseases emerging, due to poor sanitation and the presence of decomposing corpses, thereby causing even more deaths.
In response, several nations around the world have pledged to provide aid to Myanmar. And, in Singapore, several groups and individuals have also began to organise to collect donations for relief efforts in Myanmar.
Hence, what follows below are the information, which I have gathered from the websites of the relevant groups in Singapore, on the methods by which people can make their donations.
Note: while I have taken the utmost care to ensure that the following information is accurate, it remains only a convenient reference list. Please take a look at the linked websites to double check against any errors on my part reproducing the information.
